Not Done

forest-of-light-1502863-639x852I’m not done with you yet! I’ve been waiting for the moment to speak, when you are silent and ready to listen. I will not compete with all you let occupy your mind. I whisper gently calling to you, waiting for you to hear and turn your attention towards me. Now that I have it let me tell you how much I love you, how you are my heart’s desire. I long to be with you every moment of the day; you are my first thought – I long to be yours. I invite you to sit with me awhile. I have plans for you to know about, you still have a future, one with hope. It doesn’t matter what has happened to you or your errors, I am bigger than them all. I can use them and you for my glory, if you will allow me to. Hear my words precious one, let me love you and make myself known to you in new way; let me revive you – body, soul, and spirit; let me breathe fresh life into you.

Destiny

tree-leaves-onlineDo you hear the wind blowing in the leaves? They are completely surrendered to where the wind takes them; just like the leaves – we should also be willing to go without resistance where the Holy Spirit leads us. When a fresh wind (move) of the Holy Spirit comes will we be willing to let Him take us where we have not gone before, will we be willing to flow with Him? We do not need to fear what He is doing. We do need to protect the purity of His move, it is not for show or our self-glory, it is for His. He desires to move unhindered showing his glory, releasing signs and wonders. The Acts Church was not just for yesterday, but for today. Are we hungry for it?
Can you hear the Lord saying, “I’m not done with you yet! I can use them and you for my glory, if you will allow me to. Hear my words precious one, let me love you and make myself known to you in new way; let me revive you – body, soul, and spirit; let me breathe fresh life into you.”
The Lord is not done with us yet. He has a destiny for each of us to live out. Destiny is more than a six letter word in the dictionary. It’s more than a whimsical dream, it’s a calling, a plan and purpose, one designed by the Master Planner. We are not a “just” in life, not just a mother, father, son or daughter, employee or employer, student or any other “just”, and should not limit ourselves in our roles or titles; we are created for so much more. We are created in the image of God, therefore we are created for the extraordinary. Some of us might be walking out our destiny while others are being prepared to step into theirs. Then there is those earnestly seeking to know their calling or perhaps sadly running from it.
Wherever we are, I pray the Lord will awaken us to our call and destiny, to embolden us to live and walk it out in such a time as this in history, and to do so in the fullest.

Flow with Me

oil-lamp-onlineHear the wind blowing in the leaves? They are completely surrendered to where the wind takes them; be also willing to go without resistance where the My Holy Spirit leads you. Prepared

meditation-falls-onlineCome in, I’ve been waiting for you. Glad you came to seek Me, to be in My presence as you begin your day. I have some things for you to know that you will face today, not to make you afraid or dishearten you, but to encourage you, to let you know I am here, you do not face this day alone. I have a plan for you that will cause all to work out for the good. Here, let’s talk about it before you go – so you are prepared.

Gift of Giving

Gift - onlineDecember is here, heralding a traditional season of giving and merriment, it also signals the closing out of the year. We could not think of a better way to end the year than celebrating the birth and life of Jesus, and to reflect on what he has done this year and what he is calling us into in the next year.
So, what’s God doing? What is He whispering in the listening ears? Is He calling us to something new or encouraging us to stay the course? Whatever it is let us consider it all joy and do it for His glory alone, that others may see our good works and glorify our Father which is in heaven.
Not all things we are called to do will be displayed in lights or written about in newspapers for posterity. Most of the mighty men and women of God have faithfully given and humbly served in the trenches, doing so in silence, drawing no attention to themselves.
Likewise a widow gave her two mites with no fanfare, but was seen by Jesus, her act is now a lesson in humbleness, sacrifice and giving for us all. It is not the amount, the fame, or worldly gain that catches His eye, it is the heart and spirit with which we do all things. Jesus tells us he did not come to be served but to serve; he is the perfect example of serving and giving.
Heavens value system is contrary to our world where having more is the sign of success; in heaven it’s who gives more with the right heart attitude, and it’s not just about giving money. The Lord loves a cheerful giver in whatever we set our heart to give to honor Him, whether in time, money or serving. Do we have joy in our giving and serving? Even in a job where we’re paid to do, we can do it as a service, with excellence, not just the minimal required. What we do is a self-portrait; should we not desire to sign it with excellence.
As we joyfully give gifts to others let’s consider a precious gift for ourselves, in this season and throughout the year, the gift of time at the Master’s feet. Just being in His presence, is a gift with uncountable value. A place we can hear what He is whispering into our listening ears, be it how much he loves and cares for us; has been there in difficult times when we didn’t think He was even aware; or calling us to something new, higher, deeper; or His encouragement to stay the course.
So, what’s God doing? Or, perhaps better asked, what are we doing, what are we giving?

Heart Beat

heart-beatYou are My heart’s desire, a treasure, one of great price which I willingly paid. Take my hand, let me show you the desire of my heart – do you see your reflection? All I have done – I have done for you, all with you on my mind. I extend my hand to you, a hand of love, of friendship, help, support, guidance and so much more. Take my hand; let me draw you in closer to Me, closer to my heart. Do you feel its beat, it beats for you, it beats with the tune of an intimate love song. Come let me lavish my love upon you and wrap you in My glory. Let me drape you in love and kindness, grace and mercy. Let me fill you with peace and joy unspeakable. Let me put my mark upon you that all the world will know you are mine, that you are My beloved.

Harvest

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERAThe harvest, does it not belong to the Lord? Then why do we tend to work as if it belonged to us? If it belongs to the Lord, then we should do it as unto Him, following His plans for his desired outcome, then, leave the results to him. His plans are not necessarily as we think it should be. His measurement for success is not the same as ours, thankfully he has better calculations. What we may perceive as below expectations, or even failure, are in His book – considered highly successful. Let us remember to look to Him for the validation of our work. We lean to measuring by what we see in the immediate, external, and temporal, while He sees the heart, the spirit, and the eternal outcome.
It is normal, and befitting, to have expectations, desired goals, and plans in place, the Lord certainly uses those gifting in us; we also need to draw on His creativity and unlimited imagination for inspiration.  As we move forward, it’s imperative to be flexible and let Him direct our steps, to do our best in what He has called us to do, and let Him reap the reward.
Take courage, when things seem to go awry in our plans, all might just be falling into the Lord’s perfect order. He has this way of working things out, taking our failures and turning them into His successes.
Seeds we plant may not be harvested this season, but in a future by someone else. A single seed that appears to have died, for we see no life coming forth, will one day produce sevenfold, maybe even a hundred or more.

We can be confident that as we do our best our labor is not in vain, that the Lord in his timing will bring forth the fruit from our labors. 1 Corinthians 15:58 (ESV) tells us “Therefore, my beloved brothers, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that in the Lord your labor is not in vain.”
God is a good – good God, who knows what He is doing. Our job is to follow Him, co-laboring together, not trying to lead or have it our way. Then trust Him to do what only He can do.

May the Lord richly bless all the laborers of the harvest with earthly and heavenly blessings, and prosper the works of their hands.

Turn Our Hearts

rain-onlineFather, forgive me of my sins and all my wicked ways, remove the stench of them, cleanse and purify me. Renew my mind, clean my heart and create a right spirit in me. Forgive our country, O Lord, and have mercy on us, do not give us what we deserve for turning away from you and doing what seems right in our own eyes; forgive our sinfulness. Let revival break out across our land that our hearts and nation will turn whole heartedly to you, putting away all that has drawn us away from You. Let all in our land boldly declare that we are one nation under God. Let it be declared from the Whitehouse to the Schoolhouse, from sea to shining sea, through the valleys, plains and mountain tops, by young and old alike, by all people groups. Lord, we accept your loving discipline and correction, but we could not bear to live without Your presence among us. Let the reign of your presence rain down on us. In the name of your Son, Jesus Christ, I pray.

Dwelling

meditation-falls-online     One second, two second, three… oops, there goes my wandering thoughts again. Sorry, Lord, once more I bring my thoughts back to focus on you. Lord, I don’t want my thoughts to wander, I want to think about you, to ponder your marvelous ways, to tune my ears to the sound of heaven, to hear your voice, help me in this area of my life. Once more I dwell you; one second, two second, three…
How often do we, with good intentions, start to meditate on the Lord, earnestly desiring to enter into His presence, to hear His voice, then – only a few moments later find our thoughts filled with other things? I for one must admit it’s all too often for my liking. Taking every thought captive is not as easy as it might sound, we can take a clue from the 2 Corinthians 10:5 verse indicating it’s not going to be easy, the word “Captive”. To take something captive insinuates a battle in which something or someone is captured and bound so it no longer has freedom. The victory over our lawless thoughts is won with each scrimmage, with each wondering thought brought back onto topic. We are bombarded continuously from all angles with information demanding to be processed and problems dealt with, making it difficult for us to be still. Yet Psalm 46:10 tells us to be still and know that He is God. It too is a battle, we have an enemy who doesn’t want us to be still, for if he can keep us busy or distracted, even with doing good, we won’t be tuning into the sound of heaven, have time to clearly hear the Lord’s voice, or be His presence. If we are not still, refreshed or hearing the battle strategy, we are unable to fight effectively and decisively.
As we recognize our thoughts have wandered we must fight the desire to follow them. We need to stop – then intentionally turn our thoughts back to the Lord. We should not get discouraged, feel ashamed, or let the enemy beat us up in this battle; but rejoice in each victorious scrimmage where we stopped and refocused. A key in any battle is to submit to God, tell him our struggles and ask for his help; in this case to help us focus and take every thought captive. In some situations we may even need to ask to him to help us want to take our thoughts captive. As we surrender to God and resist the enemy, not focusing on distractive thoughts, eventually he will flee. It doesn’t say he will flee instantly, he doesn’t want to give up where he has had free reign, but greater is He who is in us than he who is in the world. Victory is ours with God on our side.
One second, two second, three second, four – I dwell on you, Lord.
