Beginning the Day

Sunrise on FieldsIf any of you are like me, I at time tend to hit the floor running, rushing headlong into the day when my list is long and I feel pressured to go, go go.   Then come evening I am bone tired and weary, wondering where did this day go and just what do I have to show for all my efforts.

At such times it seems I can almost hear the Lord kindly whispering to me, Come submitted to me before you start your day.  Seek me early, first thing before busyness robs you of the opportunity to get my perspective on the day, to hear
what my plans are.  Take time to get my guidance in what you intend to do, seek my insights, what I may know that is escaping you.  Let me help you that all will go well with the day; that it will be smoother than you thought and more productive than you imagined; let me help put the pieces together.  Let me be the thought foremost on your mind.  Seek me in all that you do and you will be amazed at what unfolds before you”.
I know His words are definitely for me, one I should tattoo on my forehead; it is a good reminder for me to stop, be still and know that He is God, to take the time to invite Him into my day.

They say hindsight is 20/20, we gain wisdom from our experiences.  However, I would surmise that if I used wisdom up front in taking time with the Lord before I venture out into my day, ask to see from His perspective, which by the way is far above mine, then inviting Him to guide my steps, it would be much better than any hindsight ever could be.
